Mom's Meatloaf Recipe

Servings: 2 Pounds

Ingredients

Loaf:

  • 2 Pounds Ground Meat (I used Beef)
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 Tbsp Chopped Onion (Can use dehydrated onion)
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard Dijon or Stone Ground
  • 1 Tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 Tbsp Seasoning (I used garlic and herb)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Pepper
  • 1 packet Onion Soup Mix (Or make your own mix)
  • 1 4 Oz Can Sliced Mushrooms (Optional)
  • 1 tsp Turmeric (Optional)

Sauce Toppping

  • ½ Cup Ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions

For Loaf: Pre-heat oven to 400°

  • Mix all ingredients well and form into a loaf.
  • Put in greased baking dish with higher sides.

Sauce Topping:

  • Put all ingredients into a saucepan and simmer until sugar is melted. (2-3 Minutes)

Instructions:

  • Pour 1/2 of sauce over loaf and spread.
  • Bake at 400° for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and pour rest of sauce over loaf and spread.
  • Bake another 40 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°-165°
  • Remove from oven and let rest 5 minutes before slicing and serve.
